2025 Reference Form (Three References Required for all applicants)
Counselors – Min. Age 18. Guide and supervise a group of 6-10 campers in day and resident programs. Counselors participate in general planning and carrying out of camp program and also may work with another staff member and 4-6 campers with developmental disabilities. One year of college or equivalent. Experience working with children. ($475/week)
Unit Coordinators – Min. Age 21. Supervise and coordinate the program within resident camp units. Work together with the counselors and campers to plan a constructive, well-balanced program. Two years of college or equivalent in experience working with children. Ability to coordinate, organize and supervise. ($525/week)
Inclusion (Special Needs) Coordinator – Min. Age 21. Guide and supervise staff who work with campers with developmental disabilities. Experience working with children with special needs. Two years of college or equivalent in experience working with children. Ability to coordinate, organize and supervise. ($525/week)
Day Camp Unit Coordinator – Min. Age 21. Assist with supervision and coordination of the day camp program for grades 1-8, and advise a teen leadership day camp assistant program. Work together with the Day Camp Director, counselors and campers to plan a constructive, well-balanced program. Two years of college, previous Killoqua work experience or equivalent in experience working with children. Ability to coordinate, organize and supervise. ($525/week)
CIT/WIT Coordinator – Min. Age 21. Supervise and coordinate the Counselor-in-Training/Wrangler-in-Training program. Works together with the Leadership Director and Unit Coordinators to plan a constructive, well-balanced program that prepares future camp leaders. Two years of college or equivalent in experience working with children. Ability to coordinate, organize and supervise. ($525/week)
Waterfront Coordinator – Min. Age 21. Supervise the waterfront staff, develop program and participate in implementation of waterfront program. American Red Cross WSI, Lifeguard Training, teaching experience and the ability to supervise. ($525/week)
Waterfront Specialist – Min. Age 18. Lifeguard and teach swimming and boating lessons. American Red Cross WSI, Lifeguard Training experience in teaching swimming and varied waterfront activities. ($475/week)
Horseback Riding Coordinator – Min. Age 21. Supervise and coordinate the horseback riding program, including program development and instruction, horse care and maintenance. Two years of college or equivalent in experience working with children and horses. Excellent riding skills, documented knowledge and experience teaching riding to children. ($525/week)
Horseback Riding Specialist – Min. Age 18. Instruct campers in riding, horse care and maintenance. Develop and lead daily lesson plans. Excellent riding skills, knowledge and experience teaching riding to children. ($500/week)
Challenge Course Specialists – Min. Age 18. Lead initiative activities, low course, high course and climbing wall for campers of all ages. Train staff to facilitate initiative activities and low ropes course. Documented facilitator training and experience leading challenge activities required.($475/week)
Crafts Specialist – Min. Age 21. Develop and implement a craft program for all ages of campers. Training and teaching experience in arts and crafts. Experience in working with children. ($475/week)
Camper Care Coordinator- A key leadership role responsible for the safety, support, and well-being of campers and staff at Camp Killoqua. Reporting to the Camp Director, this position provides specialized care by addressing campers’ behavioral, emotional, and health needs, working closely with families, and offering guidance to camp staff. As a core member of the supervisor team, the Coordinator will maintain a strong presence in all areas of camp, remain “on call” during scheduled hours, and contribute to overall camp operations to ensure a safe, supportive, and enjoyable experience for everyone ($675 /week)
Assistant Cooks – Min. Age 18. Prepare meals for 150 –200 people. Experience or training in quantity cooking. Current food handlers permit. Pay varies; inquire for details.
Commissary – Min age 18. Pack food for cookouts, help serve food and assists cooks. Organizational skills, basic knowledge of cooking and current food handler’s permit.($475/week)
Kitchen Assistant– Min age 17. Wash dishes, serve food and clean kitchen, assist cooks. Must have interest in working in food service and current food handlers permit. ($475/week)
Jr. Staff: Kitchen Assistant & Rover – Min age 16. This is a transitional training program designed for those just finishing high school, or those interested in learning about a variety of areas within a camp. Spend alternating weeks as a Kitchen assistant: Wash dishes, serve food and clean kitchen, assist cooks. During non- kitchen weeks, spend time in a program area of interest as an assistant. Interest areas could fall under any of the above jobs. Interest in working with food service and children. Current food handler’s permit required. ($475/week)
Groundskeeper/maintenance – Min. Age 18. Assist site manager with a variety of projects around camp. Must be able to learn on the job, some experience in one of the following fields preferred but not necessary: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and landscaping. ($475/week)
Internships – Many summer staff positions may be adapted to fit university internship requirements. Internships run the full summer season (sometimes longer) and are paid at the rate of the position you hold – unit coordinator, challenge course specialist, etc. Killoqua’s directors supervise internships and work with interns to design programs that fit their needs and goals.
